Journalists International Forum For Migration (JIFORM) has congratulated the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede, MFR and his team for winning the prestigious presidential award.
The NIS in the week was honoured by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) at the Banquet Hall of State House Presidential Villa with the prestigious award as The Most Reform Minded Agency 2020.
Also at JIFORM’s maiden international migration summit last year in Abuja, the CGI was awarded prestigious leadership award.
Speaking in Lagos with press men on the award, an elated Ajibola Abayomi, the President/Executive Director of JIFORM, said the feat was not surprising because of the excellent leadership Babandede has shown since assumption of office in 2016.
“We cannot but congratulate the humble achiever. Babandede’s humility and dedication to duties are second to none. During my interaction with him, I found in him, a distinguished career officer who believes in building institution rather than personal ego ditto for the National Public Relations Officer of the NIS, Deputy Comptroller Sunday James.
“We are proud to identify with this and congratulations to the enviable migration lead agency for the laudable feat” he said.
Ajibola added that JIFORM noted with excitement, the service under the leadership of Babandede had undertaken various reforms adding values to the ease of doing business through the visa regime
