The Columbian Ambassabdor, Mrs Claudia Turbay Quintero who doubles as the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Ghana; Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, Nigeria; International Organization for Migration (IOM) and other top dignitaries are billed to take part at the maiden edition of the African Migration Summit with the theme Labour Migration: Shifting The Paradigm To Benefit Africa at the Accra International Conference Center, between Thursday. February 25 and Friday February 26, 2021.

The event is powered by the Journalists International Forum For Migration, JIFORM, Nigeria and the NEKOTECH Center of Excellence, Ghana and would be chaired by the minister of Labour and Social Security, Sierra Leone, Alpah Timbo.

JIFORM President, Ajibola Abayomi in a statement in Accra, Ghana on Thursday while urging participants to connect with the event by registering at said all was set to receive Ambassador Claudia, Professor Patrick Lumumba from Kenya, multiple international award winning and member of the African Union Labour-Migration Advisory Committee – representing the Diaspora African Forum, H.E. Rev. Dr. A. K. Ocansey.

He said the summit was put together to chart a new course for migration policies in Africa, champion the interest of African migrants abroad and encourage leaders on the continent to evolve empowerment policies to check irregular migration.

Also participating are H.E. Ambassador Dr. Erieka Bennett- Head of Mission Diaspora African Forum, Chairman House of Representatives, Committee on Diaspora Matters in Nigeria, Hon Tolulope Akande, H.E. Ambassador Winifred Nii Okai Hammond, Ghana’s Ambassador to Egypt with concurrent assignment to Lebanon, Sudan, Palestine and Syria, Director of Diaspora Affairs, Office of the President of Ghana-Mr Akwasi Awus Ababio, Rev.Dr. Lawrence Tetteh and Ghana’s foremost Migration policy maker- Professor Joseph Teye, the Director of Migration Studies, University of Ghana at Center for Migration Studies, Legon.

The event would also feature Altec Global Incorporation, Canada and former Minister of Immigration and Citizenship, Canada, Hon Gerry Weiner and others.
