Abdur-Rahman Adekunle Balogun is a Communication, Public Relations and Media expert having spent over 30 years on the field of journalism as a Reporter, Editor, Public Relations and Information Manager, Public Affairs Analyst, Communication and Information Trainer as well as Multi-Media Consultant.

He started his journalism career as a cub-reporter with the defunct community Concord in Abeokuta in 1987, then worked briefly with Ogun state Ministry of Information and Culture as an intern. He later did his compulsory NYSC with the defunct Concord Press Limited in Abeokuta in 1992 and was retained and posted to Ibadan Zonal Office as the State Correspondent. Following the proscription of Concord Press, he joined Monitor Newspapers Limited in 1996 and was posted to Lagos Governor’s office as Senior Correspondent, (1996 to 2001) where he became the Chairman of Lagos State Correspondents Association (LASCA), he covered the activities of the Aviation Sector and political activities in Lagos too during the period before he joined the services of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja in 2001 where he rose to Deputy-Editor in Chief ( Deputy Director) in 2018. He is on secondment to the Presidency managing the Media Department of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) as the Head of the Media Unit.

Abdur-Rahman Balogun holds an Ordinary National Diploma in Mass Communication from the then Ogun State Polytechnic now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in 1989, Combined Bachelor’s degree in English/Religious Studies (1991) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife, Nigeria; two Masters Degrees in Communication and Language Studies (2001) from University of Ibadan and Masters in International Relations and Strategic Studies (MIRSS) (2006) from Lagos State University (LASU) Nigeria. He is awaiting an MPhil Award of Diaspora and Trans-national Studies from Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan.

He is a senior member of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and an Associate Member of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

He is well travelled and attended Leadership training programmes both in Nigeria and other parts of the world.
